I've been attending a twice-monthly home group Bible study for years now, at least five. Recently, it's been enhanced. We're doing a 13-week program during which we're meeting weekly, every Friday instead of only twice a month. We're reading the Bible daily and writing a daily SOAP journal (an acronym for Scripture, Observation of the scripture, Application of the scripture to our lives, and Prayer.)
In addition to that, my Bible study just started a four-week OSL program (Operation Solid Life), which is adding more prayer (out loud), additional Bible lessons, and reducing secular media, including TV, radio, books, social media and gaming, to 2 hours a week. (Exceptions to the 2-hour rule are appropriate Christian books, movies and music.) Now, that's hard for me, but I'm working on it. This is the first week. OSL goes for longer than 4 weeks, but for now, we're doing Level 1, especially since the holidays are coming up.
Well, by reducing that media ('cause I can watch me some TV! And I usually play a heck of a lot of Candy and Soda Crush), I should be able to write more. Today was the second day of OSL, and writing hasn't happened yet, but I have hope. I've got two writing projects I can do some good writing on. But since OSL is new, I don't want to substitute writing for getting close to God. I want to make sure I get my prayer time, journaling and quiet time with God down first. Then, with all the spare time I have not watching TV or playing the Crush games, I'm hopeful my actual writing time will soar.

My two projects? The first one, Anticipating Dawn, the continuation to Anticipation of the Penitent, is pretty much complete. At least I thought it was! But I'm not happy with a major part of it. Rewriting that part will take a while, especially since I haven't been working on it!
The second project is turning Anticipation of the Penitent into a screenplay. I've never written a screenplay, and am learning from scratch. I've bought two books from Amazon. The first one, The Screenwriter's Bible, is excellent for people writing a "spec script", which is a screenplay written for selling to studios, not for making into a film. The studios would then rework it for filming. That's exactly what I want! For those of you who've read Anticipation of the Penitent, I hope you agree it could be an excellent movie! The second book from Amazon is geared toward Christian screenwriters (Produced by Faith). I haven't started reading that one yet.
